ReBalance Mg1 is a Magnesium mineral supplement for aquariums.
The use of ReBalance Mg1 is recommended in the cultivation of rapidly growing aquatic plants, where the remineralizing salt mix PhytaGen S1 is not used.
When growing plants in the aquarium, Alxyon always suggests following the PhytaGen protocol, which is the safest and most reliable way to obtain the desired results.
In the PhytaGen protocol, it is considered essential to start with demineralized water (for example from reverse osmosis) of excellent quality and its perfect mineral replenishment through the use of S1 Planta (or S2 Planta) salt mix.
This is because only this strategy allows the correct ionic balance of the water, the containment of its conductivity and, consequently, the greater stability in the medium term of the aquarium ecosystem (with reduction of water changes and thinning of the necessary "reset ").
That said ... in all cases where, for any reason, it is necessary to supplement the Magnesium separately, Alxyon makes ReBalance Mg1 available to aquarists.
The cases in which it may be necessary to use ReBalance Mg1 are essentially the following:
• Use of drinking water instead of reconstructed demineralized water.
In fact, it may happen that you want / can use a source of drinking water if its conductivity, its alkalinity and its calcium content appear balanced and suitable for the purpose.
Or it may happen that you want/can use this water for the mineral replenishment of osmotic water by mixing with it.
In these situations, beyond other unknowns (such as the concentrations/ratios of Potassium, Sulphates and Chlorides and the Sodium concentration), there is often a low concentration of Magnesium which must necessarily be corrected.
Therefore, the need arises to replenish the Magnesium separately.
• Use of decors that alter the chemical composition of the water.
In some tanks, especially those in which we dedicate our energies to aquascaping, it may happen that we want to use decors (in particular rocks) that are not chemically inert.
That is decors/rocks that release quantities of calcium prevailing compared to magnesium.
In these cases, over the days there is a constant increase in the concentration of Calcium, Hardness and/or Alkalinity (GH and/or KH) and Conductivity.
This forces the carrying out of repeated water changes with only deionized/osmotic water in an attempt to remove the ions released from the decors/rocks and bring the concentrations in the tank of the aforementioned ions and of the Conductivity back to the original/desired values.
By doing this, however, it is possible to prevent the accumulation of ions (Calcium and/or Carbonates) released by the decors/rocks, but at the same time other ions present in the starting water and necessary for the ionic balance of the 'water and for the cultivation of plants (Potassium, Magnesium, Sulphates and Chlorides).
In this situation, the use of ReBalance Mg1 (in association, generally, with that of ReBalance Potassium) can remedy the imbalance created, reintroducing the necessary quantities of Magnesium, Sulphates and Chlorides (and Potassium, through the use of Rebalance Potassium).
In fact, ReBalance Mg1 is a supplement in which the only cation (positive ion) supplied is Magnesium, but the anions (negative ions) that provide this Magnesium are made up of a balanced mix of Sulphates and Chlorides.
This allows you to correctly rebalance the water in cases where its use is necessary (see cases described above) and to reduce as much as possible the imbalance inevitably caused by the integration of a single/separate element (in this case Magnesium).
ReBalance Mg1 does not contain Bicarbonates and does not affect Alkalinity (KH).
Composition
ReBalance Mg1 contains a quantity of Magnesium equal to 30 mg / ml (30 grams / liter).
Its global balance is as follows:
Magnesium = 30 mg / ml
Sulfur = 29.4 mg / ml
Chloride = 22.39 mg / ml
