Substrate V1 is a mix of substrates of volcanic origin, specifically designed for the cultivation of plants in the aquarium, but can also be used for the breeding of Sulawesi shrimps.


Substrate V1 arises from the appropriate mixing of different types of volcanic rocks, with different physico-chemical characteristics, with the aim of providing enthusiasts with the best substrate with which to implement the PhytaGen protocol.

At the same time, its volcanic nature and its physico-chemical characteristics make Substrate V1 the ideal background material for the breeding of Caridina coming from the volcanic lakes of Sulawesi.

IT IS NOT A LAPILLUS

Main features of Substrate V1

Grain size:
Ø 2-5 mm
Ideal to allow the correct recirculation of water, nourishment and oxygen in the substrate.

Density:
Ideal (not too light nor too heavy) for making planting operations easier and correct anchoring of the roots.
Differently from standard volvanic lapillus (too light)

Surface roughness:
High - typical of volcanic rocks.
V1 has been specially worked in order to eliminate the sharp edges, typical of other types of volcanic rocks, like lapillus.

Mineral composition:
It does not contain carbonates / bicarbonates.
It has a high concentration of trace elements that are not readily water-soluble, but slowly available for the roots of plants.

Appearance:
Very natural, with components of different colors, ranging from brown to black
